After graduating from the German High School she worked as a bookstore clerk, a dressmaker and a fashion model. Her style is a mixture of the stream-of-conciousness technique and dream-like fantasies. Her work reflects the old cosmopolitan atmosphere of Istanbul. Short story collections: Yanik Saraylar (Burnt Palaces/1965), Afrika Dansi (African Dance/1982). Plays: Sahibinin Sesi (His Master’s Voice/1982), İşte Baş, İşte Gövde, İşte Kanatlar (Here’s the Head, Here’s the Body, Here Are the Wings/1984). Everest My Lord is a novel/play by Burak published in 1984.
